Registration

I have graduated high school. Can I still participate? Yes. Even though our programs are designed for youths, older residents are welcomed.

My friends and I would like to register and learn as our own group. Is that possbile? Yes. An online class schedule can be setup for your group.

Is it possible to register for a one on one tutoring? Yes. We provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to current students.

I am an instructor at an institution, can I register my students as a group? Yes. In fact, we encourage it. Contact us and we will schedule class time.

Do I have to be a Rhode Island resident to participate? No. We offer online group classes. You can live in any country as long as you have internet access and a desire to learn. Contact us and we will schedule an online meeting to further discuss how we can best serve our communities.
Subjects

Do you teach other programming languages besides C#? Yes. Our instructors are skilled in multiple languages adn development frameworks. However, the Summer-of-Code program teaches Microsoft .NET Core framework and the C# language.

How easy would it be to learn another programming language, like Java, after learning C#? Easy. C# is modeled after Java. Once a student learns C#, learning Java, Python, TypeScript and others is trivial. The concepts are the same. Only the language syntax is different.

What else are the students going to learn in this course? The students will master the fundamentals of object-oriented programming and C#. In addition, students learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap. Finally, they learn to apply the above to create the community web application using Microsoft Blazor technology.

End Goal
01
Will a student be able to apply for a programming job after this course? No. It would be unrealistic to expect to be "job ready" in just two months of classes. A student will be "internship-ready" after this course.

I read a lot of computer programming job titles. What job title will the student eventually be able to apply for? The student will be able to apply for a "Front-End Web Developer using .NET Core"

Who will own the community application being developed by the students? The students, Rosa Park Resource Center, and The Impowerment Group will own the application. While the students develop the front-end, TiG programmers will build the cloud infratructure to store and retrieve data.
